When my sweet guinea pig Cleopatra came down with a fatal illness in March 2015, I was desperately trying to find a vet willing to put her to sleep. I called 7 other vets, but none were willing to do it- and those who were charge 300$ for small animal euthanasia! Then I called Banfield. They were very caring and set up an appointment that night at 5:30. We were brought in immediately, and we got to say our last goodbyes. The doctor then carefully picked her up and brought her back into the room and was humanely put down. The staff was very professional and kind-hearted. They sent us a card with their condolences a few days later.

Cleopatra has been to this vet before the illness hit her for ringworm. She LOVED the vets here! She was born deaf in both ears and was often timid of new people, but she came right out to say "Hi!" when the doctor came in. She was cooperative with all the tests (including a skin sample- ouch!) and didn't try to bite once. That's how skilled these vets are.

Thank you.

My 1 year old male dog was mischievous and ate some of my medications while I was at work. I had not actually taken my dog to Banfield before, but had an appt. set for 2 weeks later to see them for a first visit for him (it will be his first visit to a different vet since we adopted him). So he was in their system. It was 6:00 at night and they said bring him in, they were there. I brought him straight in, and he was somewhat lethargic, and definitely affected by the medicine. Dr. Billings knew EXACTLY how to handle my situation, and they examined him fully and administered charcoal in the back, she showed me how to monitor his vital signs at home to keep an eye on him, and other tips on what to do for him and what to look out for. She and the staff helped me get through a really scary situation with the upmost professionalism. Our dog was fine the next day. They saved me major $$$ by being there for us, I didn't have to go to the emergency vet.

I typically don't write bad reviews but this crossed a line for me. This place is terrible. I had a plan with them when I first got my puppy. Then my dog ripped her nail. I immediately took her to Banfield where they wrapped her paw so tight and with ridiculous sticky tape that it ripped her fur taking it off, and caused the nail to get worse and I had to take her to a different vet who properly cared for her. It was completely unnecessary what Banfield did. And they try to get you to pay as much as possible every time you stop in. I switched vets over a year ago and today my dog had a tick. My vet was booked so I took her to Banfield thinking id give them another chance. The tick fell off in the room so that was fine. But the lead vet there talked down on me like I was stupid when she said my dogs vaccines were way overdue. Well, yeah I stopped going to you guys and all her vaccines are up to date. When I explained that to her she stuck her nose up at me and huffed like she didn't believe me. Then proceeded to scold me about my dogs weight. Which I'm already aware of because I recently changed her food and have been altering her diet to adjust to the new food. Then the vet, when I asked about lowering the amount of food, she said no don't lower it and that somehow the amount I'm giving her now is not enough? But the vet says she's overweight? No clear answers, no help, and extremely poor customer service. Today was a reminder why I cancelled my plan and stopped going here. There are plenty of other small private owned vets that actually care about the animals they see and that care for the owners as well. Oh, and other vets that don't try to rip you off and empty your wallet as much as Banfield does. I've had one too many bad experiences here and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels their customer service and their vets are cold!

Dr Meyers is awesome. She saved my guinea pig, Skittles, life a couple of years ago. He had bumblefoot and she quickly prescribed antibiotics - another vet said it was not necessary... After his infection cleared and I read up on his condition, I discovered he would have died without the "pink stuff". He went for a checkup today and I was told that he may be suffering from kidney disease (he's 6 years old). I've had vets in the past who have tried to scam me with my piggies; putting them through unnecessary and painful exams - both to my pets and my wallet. Instead of pushing blood work or medication, she said "there's no reason to get it- all it will do is confirm a diagnosis...we can't really do anything". She's also seeing him in a month - free of charge - to checkup on his weight. An office visit is $40.95, which is a lot, but you're paying for a vet's opinion, a vet-tech, the space and the registration ladies' time. When you factor in all of that, it's not too bad.

My dog has been a patient of banfiel for his entire life. He has always been on their pet plans which make costs much lower. I feel so secure leaving him with people that actually love animals & make a point to make them comfortable. & the fact that they are open 7 days a week makes constant care possible. My pup got very sick yesterday, & although they were fully booked they made sure he got seen, made me feel comfortable, & best of all made him feel better. No matter what the treatment, the next day you can count on a courtesy call to ensure you animal is doing well. All of the doctors, nurses, & receptionists are fantastic.
