I have NOTHING good to say about this place. As you can see from the photos, I had a bullet hole in a window, my dining room light was held up with twisty ties, and the doorbell had been ripped off in the past. NONE of this was repaired, even with repeated requests. IN ADDITION, when I requested a handicapped entrance, they REFUSED to accommodate me, forcing me to use the slippery, steep steps. This led to three different times that I fell. The staff is MEAN, the maintenance people are a joke (I could fix things better and faster than they do!!! And they don't show up when you make an appointment!), and they are all liars. DO NOT MOVE HERE, no matter what.
Was looking for a place to rent for a year while I search for a home to buy. In the beginning they were as nice as can be and extremely accommodating. Yes we have plenty open 3 bedrooms, mind you this is 2 months in advance of our move in date. We go over they show us a beautiful 3 bedroom for $800 per month. It was nice and big, huge walk in closets, perfect for my small family. They tell us to fill out an application to get things started. There was a $50 application fee, no big deal. Well we turn it in with the money a week later so 7 weeks till move in. Now here were things go sour. I had to call them 2 weeks later to confirm we were approved which we were. Ok great, when can we come choose a trailer. Well let's wait until you get closer to move so we now exactly what will be open. Ok great but you will have a 3 bedroom for $800 available right? Yeah no problem we will call you. Time ticks away and now it's 4 weeks until I move and I've heard nothing. Obviously I'm getting concerned so I call. The run around begins. Well we have a 2 bedroom for $800 and a 3 bedroom for $1,000. I ask nicely will you have a 3 bedroom for $800 soon. Yea we will should be next week until we are able to have it ready to show you. Next week comes and I'm waiting and waiting to hear from them to no avail. So I call again. Well we thought the people in the 3 bedroom for $800 were moving out but they haven't brought us their keys so we aren't sure. Well now I'm panicking because I have 3 weeks until I move and thought I had a place to move to in Forest Park. So I give in and say show me the 2 bedroom you have for $800 and the 3 bedroom for $1,000. Well we can't show you the 3 bedroom because it has no back steps but you can look at the 2 bedroom. So I leave work and fly over there while I'm driving over I'm thinking who cares if the 3 bedroom has back steps. I just want to see it we can go in front door. When I get there I convince the girl to show me both. Well it's all so clear why they didn't want me to see the 3 bedroom for $1000 per month. It was smaller than the initial she showed us for $800 and Way older and beat up. I'm thinking why was the big nice one less than this one. Well it was all a BAIT AND SWITCH. She tells me I can call corporate and see if we can lower the rent on this one to $900 for you and we will let you know tomorrow or the next day. The 2 bedroom was just way to small. Once I leave I tell my fiancé and she's like we better start looking somewhere else quick. By the blessing of god we found a house in ellwood City. Guess what never happens. The girl from Forest Park never called me again to tell me yes or no on the 3 bedroom for $900. I think they were stringing me along until I had no choice but to fall for their bait and switch. That is exactly how my experience went down. Don't let them dupe you folks. I hope this helps someone out in the future.
i'll start with the positive. its quiet, and yards are kept, almost no solicitors but overall a terrible place to live. don't expect your security deposit back. The manager drives around the neighborhood taking pictures of your cars and property without telling you. our security deposit was stolen by these swindlers when we weren't given a full 30 days since written notice before moving out so they charged us for a whole extra month before we moved out after cleaning and making minor repairs to the place. they have a limit on how many days friends and family can visit. the roads are in terrible condition and are rarely plowed or maintained in the winter. the furnace died in our rental one winter, we have children and it took them 8 days to send someone to fix it. the rent had increased over $100 in the 5 years we lived here. they have mandatory home inspections yearly where men in boots trudge through your home tracking in snow and mud while they treat you like your a slave living in their quarters. also what they call the "park" in the community is a rusted swings that you have to walk through peoples yards to get to and is littered with old beer cans, scrap metals, rusted bicycles, its pitiful. we were charged to have the mailbox key replaced and the lock replaced for $40 because the previous tenant didn't return their key. they conduct background checks but for the first 3 years we lived here they let a registers sex offender live two doors down from our rental without ever telling us of this before we started living there. the Park manager is specifically condescending, I've had to on multiple times contact their corporate to have a late fee on our rent waived because we were not late, we were simply being hassled by the park management for whatever reason. most of my neighbors who own their home admit that it was a huge mistake buying a home in forest park. please don't make the same mistake i did, do not buy or rent in this community. their tactic is to make you believe its nice until you buy and learn the truth. talk to some people in the community before you buy or rent they will say the same.
Lived here for moee than 10 years. All that is missing is a garage for my car.
No update and no following up at all. So sad and disappointed. They just don't care at all so have a back up plan for this as it already took them 20 days+ to tell you nothing.
P.S. meth labs have been busted in this neighborhood in the past and they have let sex offenders live in there without telling you despite the background check.
