Breakfast over the holidays was expected to be busy. I had no problem waiting 40 minutes to be seated. However, it must be the new norm for a young waitstaff to show no hustle or urgency to take orders, fill drinks and get food to the table in a timely manner. Just playing a game of Diner Dash can teach these fundamentals. We literally sat at our table for over a half hour to get our pancakes served. Not ideal when eating out with children. Our waiter/waitress was not apologetic for the delay and neither was the waiter working the table next to us. When that patron complained about another table getting their food and his being delayed, he actually laughed and told them that the other table had been there “exactly 11 minutes before.” They completely miss the “timely” part of customer service.
First time ever at Cracker Barrell. They were on a limited menu for holiday but still offered a variety. Gravy was weak on taste, the grits (never had them before) were good. The menu said home apple butter jam on request, but they didn't have any- disappointing. The coffee was very weak, watery. Nice atmosphere
Hopefully management can get this young crew up to speed. Otherwise the local competition (and there are plenty of other choices) will beat them out.
Loved the fire burning. Will go back again when holidays are over to see if any improvement.
Cracker Barrel is one of my favorite restaurants and I was super excited to have one in this area. We went today and expected it to be busy as most Cracker Barrel stores are & especially since this one just opened weeks prior. We were seated instantly but waited 10 minutes before someone came to us. His name was Jason and even though we weren’t his table he took care of us with exceptional service. The food was quick & it was good too. I don’t have much complaints other than they should hurry up and work out their kinks before it becomes too late. Every time I saw a table getting service it was a different server each time & I believe the one who was supposed to take care of us had absolutely no idea where he even was or what he was doing because every table he had needed assistance from another server or manager. Hopefully this is something that’s resolved soon because as I said, Cracker Barrel is my favorite place and I love having one in Cranberry.
Safe and sound back in my office at 12:57 I encountered a cold, soggy-wet Reuben and cold soggy-wet fries and warm coleslaw – YUCK! I won’t make that mistake again! Especially seeing as how the woman that finally handed me my food seemed exasperated because I didn’t want to take the time to go over my lunch order with her…..lunch carry out at Cracker Barrel was a HUGE mistake!
Nevertheless I tried to plan for this and work around it to very little avail. I placed a phone order for lunch at 11:55 a.m. I was told it would be ready in 10 minutes, and to go to the pick area at the registers …my office is a 5 minute drive from Cracker Barrel…I figured it would take them more than 10 minutes, so I left pick up my lunch in 10 minutes.
They just opened the location I went to. Place was packed. Food wasn't good and bland. My side of fries was a count of 8. Orders were messed up. 3 stars is for the waitress Tracy. She was kind and helpful.
Food was good, coffee was weak, layout and decor were nice. Bathrooms needed some serious attention. Waiting area (store) was crowded and seemed a little smaller than other CB’s I’ve visited.
Lunch carry out was a HUGE mistake!
Let me start out by saying I anticipated that Cracker Barrel would be very busy and that they would need to work the kinks out of their system having just opened.
I arrive both of the carry parking spots were full…yes both mean 2 spots. The entire rest of the front parking lot was full, the entire back parking lot was full…I had to park at the restaurant next door. 15 minutes after I left I arrived to the ‘carry-out order’ pick up line…after 5 or 10 minutes in that line I was told I was in the wrong line and that I need to be in the line to pay at the cash registers…5 more minutes in that line followed by 10 more minutes in the carry-out pick up line…at 12:45 I was finally awarded my food the hike back to the car and drive back to the office took 10 minutes.
