Ultimately we felt that Darlene did not care about us as customers, especially with the way the final delivery of the bed was handled. In this case, the customer is not always right!
I love my savvy rest mattress and the ladies at the Natural Sleep Shop were delightful to work with. They are knowledgable, friendly and helped add value to my life, and sleep, by assisting me to choose what would be best for me. It has been several years and I am loving my purchase.
This is the only place where I was able to find a truly safe and natural crib mattress. The owners are dedicated to their business and helped a lot in choosing a product. This personal touch, and the ability to actually see and feel the products is something I really value, and I would never have been able to choose something via online shopping. I plan to come back when we transition the baby to a big bed!
While I’m sure this is an exception, and my wife and I have high expectations, we were investing $8,250 into a new bed, and in the end, not having taken any delivery, have to pay CC fees, restocking fees, shipping fees, to almost the sum of $1,000.
While the Savvy Rest product may be the best out there, my fair warning to future customers is please be sure you know what you want before you buy it, otherwise it will be a very very costly mistake! And once it came down to dollars and cents, it’s all business with this store!
Repeat customer, have bought several sets of bamboo sheets and two natural pillows. The staff always remembers me, even if it is a year between visits. They even remember my name. When I expressed my disappointment that the adjustable wool pillow did not work out for me, the staff kindly suggested an alternative stuffing to mix with the wool and we're thoughtful and generous enough to save any extra latex from demostrations so that I could try to fix the pillow I had. Though the process of learning and buying products here is frequently time-consuming, and I have never been the only only person in the store, I am always greeted and helped as soon as possible. Top notch products that are worth every penny!
I was lucky enough to buy a mattress from this store on a promotion. It was a great deal and I can't say enough about the comfort level. My husband and I now compare every mattress we sleep on (hotels, beds at the houses of family members, etc.) to the one we bought and our mattress comes out on top every time. We both get better sleep at night and sleep more comfortably. I would highly recommend this store and their products to everyone.
My wife and I ended up having a very bad experience with this store. Initially it was terrific, both Darlene and her son helped us for a few hours, being extremely knowledgeable, cheerful, and helpful. We believed in their passion for the organic products. We placed an order on 9/14 and happily waited for the bed. After a few weeks, we found out the base we ordered was not organic (we overlooked this in the store, Darlene said she told us but that we were too cheap and stuck with the discounted non-organic floor model, which we absolutely do not remember being told), and that we could not return the mattress if we did not end up liking it. Doing further research online, the small employee owned Savvy Rest does has great reviews on comfort/quality, but low reviews on returns/customer service. We called and initially tried to return the bed, despite not yet taking delivery. We were told since we signed on the dotted line, and it was a ‘special order’, we’d have to pay restocking fees, shipping fees, etc. PLEASE BEWARE, once you sign the sales order and provide your credit card, this is a done deal. We spent 3 days trying to maybe change the base unit into an organic one, but it was too costly. Already we were spending $8,300! Eventually we agreed to take original shipment of the order. Darlene said everything had arrived and the delivery company would call to schedule our delivery. After waiting an additional week, despite the store having our bed and bedding, when we called, Darlene said the bed wouldn’t be delivered until her replacement came in (we had gotten the floor model base). So after a month of waiting, we still did not have our new bed, and delivery wouldn’t be till next week. While we did spend a few days looking at alternative bases, it really should not have held delivery by 2+ weeks.
Also note the Holy Lamb Organics wool is NOT certified GOTS organic.
Please know that any Savvy Rest is a SPECIAL ORDER (although nothing is custom) and you cannot return your product no matter what the scenario. While Darlene is passionate about the products with her own personal story of chemical sensitivity, if you have any issues, or concerns once you buy the bed, it happy Darlene quickly turns from into defensive, aggressive hard-nose Darlene.
